Post Organic Exhibition - Sonic Landscapes (2024)
Multi-channel sound installation, field recordings, synthesized audio
The designed soundscape for the 'Post Organic' exhibition examines the delicate interplay between the natural and the artificial, mirroring the shifting boundaries between humanity and the environment. The work opens with an immersive natural soundscape, drawing the listener into a familiar, organic world. As the composition evolves, subtle artificial elements are gradually introduced, transforming the auditory experience into an uncanny and synthetic landscape.
This progression invites a re-examination of the boundaries between the organic and the constructed. Slowly, the artificial recedes, allowing the original natural sounds to return, completing a cyclical journey that echoes the broader thematic concerns of the installation. The carefully crafted transitions invite a contemplative engagement with the evolving nature of our environment.
This work was part of a larger work by artist Miles Dunne for his 2024 exhibition Post Organic, exhibited at Staff Only Gallery, Croydon SA.
