The Other Place EP (2019)
The Other Place is my debut solo EP, a project which consolidates the last two years of production into an eclectic 5 track album. Encompassing an array of both pulsing electronic elements with floating classical layers, the EP showcases a minimalistic focus around its central themes while exploring a deep experimentation of musical practices.
Much of our interactions with the world happen through the places we visit often, specifically spaces that we build relationships with over different periods of time. A house, the workplace — even a regularly traveled path — each of these are made of more than just their physical structure. The brick and mortar serve as a physical bedrock for our subjective experience within them and act as silent witness to our experiences.
'The Other Place' represents this space between physical and metaphysical, The place that we see in our mind when we remember past events of our life, and how those places still exist as memories even after the physical structure itself is long gone.
Like these fragmented memories, each track from ‘The Other Place’ stitches together elements from different periods of the writing process, woven neatly to create a complex mesh of layered sounds that evoke a feeling of a lucid yet loosely defined memory.
